Many area companies employ people with intellectual and developmental disabilities who become indispensible members of their workforce. Arc staff works with prospective employers to find the right job candidate to meet their needs. Though the individual is on the company's payroll and receives company benefits once hired, an Arc-paid employment support specialist, or job coach, trains the new employee until they meet all job requirements. The job coach then stays connected to the employer and employee, perhaps on a weekly basis or as more training is necessary.
The Arc supports workers who are employed directly by area companies in many kinds of work including: food service, office support, custodial, retail stocking, and customer service.
Check out the list sampling of companies employing Arc supported workers.
